This lighthouse is an American icon, and it’s photo is carried on the Voyager spacecraft! It goes by two names, one of which is really the name of the island it’s built on.
The Nubble Light, whose official name is the Cape Neddick Lighthouse, is located in York, Maine, just few minutes north of our southern border. The lighthouse sits on Nubble island, about 100 yards from shore.
There is a parking lot at Cape Neddick Point where you can park your car and snap a few picturesque photos of the lighthouse.
If you’re planning to visit the lighthouse in July check out the timing of “Christmas In July,” where they decorate the lighthouse with Christmas lights.
